Camilla wanted a fish head.
Here Camilla is with her new friend "Mr. Salmon". She saw it at Fry's and begged to bring it home. Eek! I tried my best to convince her we couldn't get Mr. Salmon because I didn't know how to cook it. Her reply, "make a soup", was followed by "please please please" and a sad face. Hmmm. He did look exceedingly fresh. At 1.06, I figured I had little to lose by saying yes.
Mr. Salmon came to the table in a bath of pureed tomatoes and onions, coconut milk, Indian spices, chilies and eggplant. We had the meat and sauce over (our favorite!) Botan calrose rice. As odd as the dish looked, it was actually quite good. This was by far the freshest salmon any of us had ever eaten. The meat was particularly delicate. I admit removing meat from the head was a bit awkward at first. I almost passed out when I saw the gills. When it was all said and done though it made a great meal for a great price. Way to go Camilla!
